Traffic Impacts 

Strawberry Hill Avenue: Closed under the railroad bridge between Fitch Street and Winfield Street. Detour as signed. Pedestrian and bicycle access maintained. Bridge closed to traffic through October 2025.

Fort Point Street:  Monday – Friday, from 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Alternating traffic patterns on Fort Point Street between South Smith Street and Moore Place.

East Avenue:  Monday – Friday, from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM and 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM. Alternating one-way traffic between Fort Point Street and Fitch Street.

Marshall Street: Monday - Friday, from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Alternating one-way traffic on Marshall Street

Water Street: Monday – Thursday, from 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM. Water Street will be closed for southbound traffic and detoured via Haviland Street, South Main Street and Hanford Place. Northbound traffic will be maintained. Eversource Transmission Relocation Project.

Elizabeth Street: Monday – Thursday, from 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM. Elizabeth Street will remain open for local traffic. The intersection of Water Street will be closed and detoured via Day Street. Eversource Transmission Relocation Project. 

Fort Point Street between the entrance of Veteran’s Memorial Park, Seaview Ave, and Van Zant Street: Monday – Thursday, from 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM. Vehicle traffic maintained. Travel lanes will be reduced near the work zone. Sidewalk detours will be implemented. Eversource Transmission Relocation Project.

Fort Point Street between Van Zant St,
South Smith St, and Moore Place: 
Monday – Thursday, from 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM. Fort Point St will be closed under the railroad bridge. Traffic will be detoured via Van Zant St and Osborne Ave. Eversource Transmission Relocation Project.

Marine Activity

Norwalk River: Intermittent channel closures east and west. One channel remains open to marine traffic.   

Parking

East Norwalk Train Station: Parking is reduced at the East Norwalk Train Station for station improvements. Additional parking is available for commuters at 180 East Avenue

Day and Overnight Work at the WALK Bridge:  Monday - Saturday, 24 hours, non-stop.
