Railroad Activity
Track and catenary work on the New Haven Line between Fort Point Street and the Strawberry Hill Avenue Railroad Bridge
- Friday, July 5 - Sunday, July 7, from 6:30 PM - 6:00 AM and 6:30 PM - 6:00 AM.
- Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 12, from 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:00 AM.
- No impacts to local roads, rail service or pedestrian traffic are anticipated.
- Noise and lighting will be monitored.
Construction activities northeast, southeast, northwest and southwest of the WALK Bridge on the Norwalk River
- Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 12, from 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
- No impacts to marine traffic are anticipated.
- Noise will be monitored.
Other Activity
Overnight Utility work on East Avenue between Olmstead Place and Winfield Street
- Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 12, from 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
- Alternating one-way traffic will be maintained on East Avenue.
- Noise and lighting will be monitored.
Construction activities southwest of the WALK Bridge near North Water Street
- Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 12, from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- No impacts to local roads, sidewalks or marine traffic are anticipated.
- Noise will be monitored.
Eversource’s Norwalk Bridge Transmission Relocation Project will continue at the following locations:
South Main Street near the intersection of Elizabeth Street
- Monday, July 8 – Friday, July 12, from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- At times, northbound traffic on South Main Street will be closed near the work area and detoured via Hanford Street to Water Street. Elizabeth Street may be closed at the intersection of South Main Street and detoured via Hanford Place to Day Street.
- Local property and business access will be maintained. Parking spaces will be reduced near the work area.
Washington Street (Rt. 136) between the entrance of Veteran’s Memorial Park and Seaview Avenue:
- Monday, July 8 – Friday, July 12, from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Two-way traffic will be maintained on Washington Street, travel lanes will be reduced near the work area.
- Local property and business access will be maintained.
Water Street near the intersection of Elizabeth Street (Night Work):
- Due to the 4th of July holiday, construction will start at 10:00pm on Sunday July 7th, the remainder of the week construction will start at 8 PM.
- Monday, July 8 – Thursday, July 11, from 08:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
- One-way alternating traffic will be maintained around the work area on Water Street in the vicinity of Elizabeth Street.
- Local property and business access will be maintained. Parking spaces will be reduced near the work area.
